Barkley to bounce balls at capitol?

Artur Davis, an incumbent congressman from Birmingham, Alabama, has someone in mind to be his successor, should he choose to run for governor in 2010. The candidate? None other than Charles Barkley. Reporters caught up with him early Tuesday morning, when he said the following:

"I've heard Charles' name mentioned as someone who might have an interest. I know he has a home in Leeds now and he could buy a flat in Birmingham inside the district but that really doesn't really matter. I know he's someone who has a real interest in the state, in wanting to see it move forward."

When asked if Barkley would be the tallest or largest member of congress, Davis remarked, "Both," with a smile.
